We and our partners work with real estate developers, construction and engineering firms, to source and supply quality building and finishing materials.

Recent Projects

The construction sector continues to be under invested with a limited concentration of interconnected manufacturing companies. The sector consists mainly of medium-sized enterprises located primarily in the urban and peri–urban area.

Given the small size of the manufacturing sector, virtually all construction materials are imported.

Partner Projects

In a drive to make housing needs more affordable and accessible to every Gambian, Smart Construction has recently unveiled a new package with the launch of its social housing project at a ceremony held at its head office in Brusubi Phase 2.

Established in 2018, the goal of this new housing project is to ensure that every Gambian owns a home.

Given the small size of the manufacturing sector, virtually all construction materials are imported. These materials include cement, steel, tiles, plumbing materials, electrical materials, and major household appliances. The market for materials for small-scale construction projects is dominated by imports from China and India.

The Gambian government is currently considering the drafting of a National Public Buildings and Facilities Policy.
